From a Hawaiian perspective, all portions of the land and environment are related, like members of an extended family. Āina (land, that which feeds)does not stop at the shoreline, but extends out to the sea. The names of the sponsor packages below are wao (environmental zones) that begin at the shoreline and head out to sea, just as paddlers have done so generationally. Moreover, these wao are figuratively used to reflect not only the donor as apart of our extended ʻohana, but also the depth of their generosity towards our Kaiola ʻohana.
